St. Veronica follows the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Technology Standards to provide a program that promotes growth in computer skills while emphasizing ethical and moral use of technology.
St. Veronica students in grades K-8 increase their knowledge and develop their computer skills with weekly visits to the school's computer lab. Our goal is to help students gain the skills necessary to be more productive in their communication, research and thinking skills. Keyboarding, word processing, and Internet skills are introduced and developed. In addition students in various grades learn skills that enhance their classroom objectives. These skills include critical thinking, logical thinking, math, reading, science, social studies, and creative writing development. As students progress they also develop skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Microsoft Word. Another key component of the curriculum is Internet Safety and ethical use of technology.
Technology is also integrated into each classroom. Every classroom has a Smartboard, mounted projector, document camera, and access to laptop carts. St. Veronica School has subscriptions to Renaissance Learning's Accelerated Reader, Star Reader, and Early Literacy programs. Essential Skills Reading, Phonics and Math programs and a subscription to More Starfall for the younger students is available. The school also has a subscription to Discovery Education, offering our teachers easy access to 80,000 curricular resources including educational videos, interactive teaching tools, and more.
